Dal Khalsa asks Badal to rethink FDI stance

Punjab,Business/Economy,Politics, Tue, 18 Sep 2012 IANS

Amritsar, Sep 18 (IANS) Accusing the Shiromani Akali Dal of "hypocrisy" by demanding FDI in multi-brand retail and then opposing it, radical Sikh group Dal Khalsa has called for a rethink on the issue.

Dal Khalsa president H.S. Dhami said the ruling Akali Dal was opposing foreign direct investment in retail despite the central government giving the option to states to implement the decision.

He accused Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of ignoring the interests of farmers and consumers in the state to please the Bharatiya Janata Party.
