125 IEDs recovered in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sep 17 (IANS) Police foiled a major plot by Maoists to target security forces by recovering 125 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Jharkhand's Khuti district Monday, police said.

According to police, the IEDs connected by a network of wires, were recovered near Bandu road situated under the Rania police station of Khuti district, which is around 70 km from Ranchi. "The IEDs were connected through wire in a series," said Khuti Superintendent of Police Amarnath Mishra to reporters.

The IEDs were recovered after inputs were provided by an arrested Maoist rebel. Simdega district police Monday morning arrested Sunil Kerketa, a Maoist guerrilla. During interrogation, the arrested Maoist revealed about the IED.

In another development, Hazaribagh police arrested two hardcore Maoist guerrillas Monday.
