Ghaziabad, July 31 (IANS) A 45-year-old man employed at a doctor's clinic here died Tuesday after consuming poison, police said. He was earlier named as a suspect by his employer in a Rs.5 lakh theft.

Satpal, who was named by his employer as a suspect in the theft from the clinic July 18, consumed poison in the afternoon and came to the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Kumar, who was not present in the office, police said.

He was carrying a register in which he had kept his suicide note and complaint. He met the public relations officer in the SSP's office to whom he disclosed that he had consumed poison tablets. Police took him to hospital where he died in the evening.

Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against doctor B.D. Arora, in whose clinic Satpal was working.

"Satpal, in his complaint letter, had written that he was disturbed by the allegation against him and he had nothing to do with the theft," said a police official.
