Sharad Yadav downplays VP candidature buzz

New Delhi, July 15 (ANI): Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Sharad Yadav on Sunday refused to comment on speculations about him being projected as the vice presidential candidate by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Talking to mediapersons here, Yadav said the vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), would only be announced after discussions on Monday.
"I have never made any comment on the speculation doing rounds in the political fraternity. Tomorrow we have a meeting of the NDA. The name of the vice presidential candidate will be announced after the meeting," Yadav, who is also the convenor of the NDA, said.
The UPA, on Saturday, had announced Mohammed Hamid Ansari as it's vice presidential candidate.
The last date for nominations for the vice president election, scheduled to be held on August 7, is July 20.
Ansari's first term as Vice President ends on August 10. (ANI)
