Dreaded Maoist cadre arrested in Gaya

Gaya, July 6 (ANI): The police on Friday arrested a hardcore Maoist cadre with Rs. 5,00,000 of extortion money here.

A country made weapon, bullets and a mobile phone have been recovered from the possession of Shravan Manjhi, who has four cases related to Maoist activities registered against him in two police stations.

Acting on a tip off, the police laid a trap to apprehend Manjhi, who was arrested when he came to collect the extortion money.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Superintendent of Police (City), Babu Ram revealed that Manjhi had gone to collect the ransom amount from the owner of Raja Construction Company, when he was arrested.

"The police had got secret information that Shravan Manjhi had gone to collect extortion money from the owner of Raja Construction Company with few people. We have recovered Rs. 5,00,000 in cash, a receipt, a country made weapon, bullets and a mobile phone. There are four cases related to Maoist activities registered in two police stations," Ram revealed. (ANI)
