Lucknow, June 28 (IANS) A man killed his neighbour in Uttar Pradesh early Thursday for not inviting him to a dinner party, police said.
Salim was killed by his neighbour Nizamuddin with a brick in Bhimnagar district, 470 km from here, police said.
Nizamuddin hit Salim with the brick until he collapsed, Superintendent of Police Tehsildar Singh told IANS. The accused is now on the run.
The assailant was angry that while all neighbours were invited by Salim to the dinner Wednesday, he did not get an invitation.
Salim had organised the dinner at his home on occasion of completion of a religious ritual.
