Washington, June 11 (ANI): A boy of Indian origin has reportedly reunited with his mother after 25-year search across the globe.

Saroo Brierley, who was a resident of Khandwa, India, lived with his mother, Fatima and other siblings

Back in 1987, Brierley, was travelling with his elder brother Guddu in train, when he suddenly realised that his older sibling was missing.

Not knowing what to do, the 5-year-old Brierley was whisked away by train, finally ending up in Calcutta.

He lived in Calcutta as an orphan before an Australian couple adopted him and gave him a second chance at family, Fox News reported.

As a result, Brierley shifted to his new home in Tasmania, Australia.

But apparently he didn't forget that his original family reside somewhere else and was willing to travel across the world to find them out

Subsequently, after struggling for 25-long years to search his way back to his hometown, Brierley, finally landed in his native place on Feb 12, 2012 to be reunited with his family after these many years.

Fatima, who was delighted to find her son back, reveals that she had always wished to find her son back and Brierley's return has finally given her some 'mental peace'.

However, Brierley cannot move back to India as he has other responsibilities, other family and a whole other life back in Tasmania.

But he hopes to visit his native country once or twice a year. (ANI)
