Ajit Singh lauds Air India staff for ensuring safe landing

New Delhi, June 11 (ANI): Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today personally called up Captain Urmila Yadav, Co pilot Yashoo Pereira and Guwahati airport Director Manvinder Singh, and thanked them for ensuring the safe landing of Alliance India flight ATR 42 aircraft VT ABD while operating from Silchar to Guwahati and saving precious life of the passengers.Ajit Singh in particular appreciated the courage and grit of Captain Urmila and her Co-pilot Yashoo with which they acted in the hour of crisis and ensured safety of all 48 passengers on board without letting panic take its grip.

The aircraft had separation of nose landing gear and one front wheel after take off from Silchar.

Singh's personal call came not only as an appreciation , but also as a strong message that the services of staff and employees of the Company, be it small or big, will not go unnoticed and unrecognized.

The presence of mind of two women pilots saved the lives of 48 passengers and four crew aboard a Guwahati-bound Air India plane on Sunday, after the flight lost one of the front wheels during take off from Silchar airport. (ANI)
