New York, June 7 (ANI): An attorney for actress Amanda Bynes has entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf in a driving under the influence case - after the former child star sent a Twitter message to President Obama asking him to fire the police officer who arrested her.

Bynes, 26, who at age 13 starred in her own Nickelodeon TV series "The Amanda Show," was charged with DUI in West Hollywood in the early hours of April 6. Police said the actress struck a sheriff's patrol car and refused to take a sobriety test.

Bynes raised eyebrows when she took to Twitter on Tuesday and wrote: "Hey @BarackObama . . . I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end."

But a source close to the star told the New York Post, "People around Amanda are concerned about her well-being. She is not the same person she was a few years ago. She is not supposed to comment on the case on Twitter." Her rep didn't comment last night. (ANI)
