Rain likely in Delhi

New Delhi, June 6 (IANS) After a warm and windy Wednesday in the capital, the weather office has forecast light rains towards the night. The maximum temperature during the day settled at 38.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average for this time of the season.
"There is a possibility of light rain or thunder showers towards night," said an official from the India Meteorological Department.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures Thursday will stay around 41 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively," the official added.
After several days of blistering heat, the minimum temperature in the capital Wednesday morning (at 8.30 a.m) was 26 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the average for the season.
Rainfall recorded till 8.30 a.m. Wednesday was 12 mm. Maximum humidity stood at 65 percent in the evening.
