New Delhi, June 5 (ANI): Air Customs Officers have arrested one person for attempting to smuggle electronic goods through the Green Channel at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).
Anurag Rudra, holder of Indian Passport No G-8917534, was intercepted along with his parent after his baggage was diverted for scanning.
Rudra arrived in New Delhi from New York via Flight No. AI-102.
During the scanning a large number of electronic goods, including an Apple I-Pad, I-Pod, BOSE Music System and Misc. branded goods were recovered.
On being asked, Rudra said he was the owner of all the smuggled goods.
The total value of the Apple I-Pad, I-Pod, BOSE Music System and Misc. branded goods is Rs.75,48,107/-.
The goods were seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. Rudra was arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962, said V. K. Goel, Commissioner of Customs (I and G). (ANI)
