London, May 4 (ANI): Mick Jagger, who is to host the season finale of 'Saturday Night Live' on May 19, is planning to show off his comedy skills on the show.
Although the Rolling Stones frontman has been the musical guest twice on the show, this will be the first time that he will perform a humorous opening monologue and participate in comic skits.
The 68-year-old also made a fleeting cameo in 2001 rehearsing his stage moves in a dressing room mirror with comedian Jimmy Fallon appearing as his reflection.
Episodes of the show feature a famous host from the world of acting, music or politics and have previously included President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Dolly Parton and George Harrison.
Actor Alec Baldwin with 16 holds the record number of hosting appearances by a celebrity.
'Saturday Night Live' began in 1975 and at various times its cast has included comedians Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.
The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year and plans to mark the milestone include a documentary and book.
Jagger, who in 2009 joined the group SuperHeavy with Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart, will take his turn hosting the comedy show two weeks after popstar Rihanna. (ANI)
