Amritsar , Fri, 24 Dec 2010 ANI

Amritsar, Dec.24 (ANI): A group of devotees have started their journey from Amritsar to Pakistan to pray at various temples falling in Sindh province.

Jagrati Shadani, a Hindu devotee, said they are going to Pakistan to spread religious harmony.

"Around 47 devotees are gathered here along with 10 women. We are going to promote the religious faith so that we can spread the message of peace and teach people about Lord Krishna. It is our mission that somehow people come towards Lord Krishna and devote their time in harmony and love. This is our message for others as well," said Shadani

India and Pakistan have had a turbulent history marked by military and militant conflicts since Pakistan was created in 1947, with both neighbours warring over the Kashmir.

Kashmir is claimed in full by both India and Pakistan but they rule it in part. They have twice gone to war over the Himalayan region, which remains at the core of their dispute. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
