Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct.14 (ANI): Traders from India and Pakistan have met to discuss enhancement of trade between the two countries at the 'Chakan-da-Bagh' Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch District.

A group of about 83 traders from Rawalkot (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) met 65 Indian traders on Wednesday to discuss how trade between the two countries could be further improved.

To settle all the litigation processes, the traders discussed and calculated the trade benefits and accounts.

The Trade Facilitating Officer of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Raja Arshad, said such meetings provide a platform for the traders to discuss their trade processes at length.

"The biggest benefit of this trade is that both the sides experience profit in their earnings. Their business is doing better. We are trying to make this trade better," said Arshad.

The Trade Facilitating Officer of Poonch District, Gurmail Singh, said that the meet is a good way of settling all trade accounts between the traders.

"The main aim of these traders is the barter system-exchange of goods- the settlement process, litigation needed during the exchange is settled here," said Singh.

The General Secretary of Poonch Traders Association, Krishan Singh, said that the Pakistan government should be slightly liberal in sending more vehicles.

"I would like to say one thing to the Pakistan government that for the last two years we've been approaching them and telling them that they send 25 vehicles so that we can also send 25 vehicles. The Indian government has given us the freedom to send 50 vehicles as well," said Singh.

All the traders were of the view that the trade should benefit both the sides and symbolized brotherhood and harmony between the two countries. By Narinder Singh Sasan (ANI)
