SP leaders meet Chiru amid speculations
Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh along with two Bollywood star turned politician Jaya Bachchan and Jaya Prada meet another film actor–turned political novice Chiranjeevi who had recently founded a political party ‘Praja Rajyam’ amid speculations of seeking any possible alliance between SP and PR on Sunday.
The meeting, however, was a ‘friendship’ meeting, as both party leaders said but it looks like, SP is seeking some space in the south to defeat UP Chief Minister Mayawati and her party Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) that has already shaken hand with Chandrababu Naidu of Telgu Desum Party (TDP) on both state as well as national level.
The meeting that held around one hour at the headquarter of Praja Rajyam (PR) in Hyderabad where Amar Singh taught the novice leader some basics of politics and warned him to be cautious while performing any task as a political leader come under the scanner of public and media all the time; and any small ‘wrong’ thing can ruined the career of the leader. “Politics is not a bed of roses”, said Amar Singh to Chiru, while Jaya Bachchan asked her to fight alone the next election fray.
After the meeting both the party leaders had address the media persons separately in which both had denied to be held any discussion of any political coalition while SP leaders had informed the media, ‘they came here to congratulate Chiru for being a political leader.’
Addressing to media Amar Singh said, “I told him that he has chosen a difficult path in public life and that his every move will be under scrutiny and he should be prepared for the criticism. I am a fan of Chiranjeevi, there is need for such a person to enter politics. All his reel life roles should be translated in real life.”
While on asking the possibility of coalition Amar said, “Yeh Andar Ki baat hai (It’s an internal matter).” “If we were keen on an alliance we would have sailed with the TDP. Even the alliance with Congress in Uttar Pradesh needs to be finalised,” he added.
On the other hand, PR party spokesperson Parakala Prabhakar also refused to hold any talks about coalition. “There was no political discussion during the interaction. They had not come here with any political expectations,” said Prabhakar.
But, according to speculations, Amar Singh was seeking the opportunities of translating the ‘fast friendship’ of Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi’ in to political and business nexus as both these personalities have strong root among public and their collaboration may be fruitful for both the political parties.
Amar Singh who is also very close to Anil Dhirubhai Ambani, the Chairman of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and member of Samajwadi Party - was also seeking possible opportunity to exploit the chances of oil, telecom and entertainment sector, as per speculations aired.
