Bipasha Basu regains ‘Sexiest Woman of Asia’ crown

Nov 19: The dusky damsel Bipasha Basu is voted as the sexiest women in Asia in the latest release of the list of Sexiest Asian Women in the World by a British Magazine Eastern Eye.

Public voted her most among the list of 100 names published in the newspaper and on its website.

The chairman of the Judges panel was Eastern Eye’s show business editor Asjad Nazir. Eastern Eye is the largest selling Asian newspaper in Britain.

Hemant Verma, editor of Eastern Eye and also the founder of its Sexiest Asian Women in The World List hailed Bipasha for her international appeal, beauty and charm which is arousing great interest in her from world media.

Bipasha said in jubilation, “I'm glad I got the crown back and will try and hold on to it this time.”

After regaining the top position of 2005 she said, “I think sexiness goes beyond looks and is a total package, from your personality to the way you carry yourself in your everyday life. I'm really grateful to all who voted for me because I work very hard.”

The model turned actress won Ford Supermodel contest in 1996 and subsequently grown as an actress.

The sultry actress is eagerly waiting for her next week’s release ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’, but this title for sure will give her that extra bit of zeal to attain her goal with new hopes.

Indian beauties have occupied almost all the top slots with last year winner Priyanka Chopra at third place and Madhuri who is going to make a stupendous come back with her movie Nach Le occupies the second place.

To everybody’s Aishwarya Bachchan at four, Laila Raucass, former Channel V Veejay is voted as the fifth sexiest woman followed by Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta at number sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.

The 20 most voted names are taken from a list of hundred and then it passes through the panel of judges representing eminent British Asians from the world of films, television, fashion, media and showbiz.

The newspaper then assembled all the judges’ answer to produce the final list.

Another big thing that is on the cards is the crown of ‘Sexiest Asian Men in the World’ list, which is releasing on coming Friday.

Let’s watch whether the male breed of tinsel world can reflect back the same result as the pretty Indian Women’s have done.
