Condom distribution ahead of St.Valentine's Day in New Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): A day ahead of St.Valentine's Day, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)- India Cares, launched its 'Love Yourself and Love Your Partner' campaign here on Saturday.
February 13 was marked as International Condom Day.
The AHF campaign included the free distribution of the AHF 'LOVE'- brand condoms and active participation of the participants.
This campaign aimed to foster public-private partnership for a vast reach.
A day ahead of the St.Valentine's Day with almost everybody in cities talking about love, the AHF thought it is the best time to talk about safer sex awareness.
"We are celebrating International Condom Day in 22 countries. The motive behind celebrating International Condom Day is: tomorrow (14 Feb) is V- Day, everybody is talking about love, romance and floating in the air," said, Mohammad Irshad, coordinator, the AHF -India Car
"This is the best time to promote AIDS awareness through 'love condoms'. Our campaign is - Love yourself and love your partner. The AHF decided, this is the best time to promote it," he added.
The AHF - India urged people to use condoms and 'Stay Negative' from AIDS. The people joined the AHF rally raising slogans - 'Use Condoms and Save Nation'.
The awareness campaign impacted the participants.
"Condom is the best way to prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases, plus it also helps in family planning. It keeps me and my wife safe," said, Ram Prasad Chaurasiya, a participant.
In India, AHF-India Cares, established under the aegis of AIDS Healthcare Foundation in 2004 is a non profit Trust dedicated to carry forward the mission to save lives and provide free HIV treatment care and support, prevention, awareness and advocacy. (ANI)
