Rahul Gandhi visits Rajasthan to draw out youth support
Sawai Madhopur (Rajasthan), Nov 24(ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday commenced his two-day tour of Rajasthan by interacting with the youth from state's Sawai Madhopur district.
Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister C P Joshi and MP Bhanwar Jitendra Singh.
He began his mass contact programme in the state by highlighting the changes made in the internal election process of the National Student's Union of India (NSUI) and the Congress party.
With these as the hallmarks of the party's set-up, he prompted the youth to join the bandwagon of Congress party.
"If any Youth Congress member wants to contest the elections, be it the rich or the poor, a Dalit or an Adivasi, he or she can do so and for any post. Our system will take everybody together and all will be benefited," Rahul Gandhi said.
He further urged upon the youngsters that if Rajasthan has to progress, its youth will have to come out and participate in politics.
"More and more people have to participate in the election process. We have to strengthen the Youth Congress," Rahul Gandhi added.
Rahul Gandhi also mentioned that the Congress party has been encouraging the youth to be active in politics in other states as well and expressed his optimistic hopes about the youngsters of Rajasthan. (ANI)
