Sikhs mark 334th Martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur
Amritsar Nov. 24 (ANI): Marking 334th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth master of the Sikhs, a religious procession was taken out in Amritsar, the city of Golden Temple, on Monday.
The procession or, the Nagar Kirtan carried the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy scripture of the Sikhs) in a golden palanquin which passed through various bazaars of the Amritsar.
"Panj Piaras" (the Five Sikh beloved) carrying holy maces led the procession. eligious societies, jathas (groups), associations and children sang "Shabads" (, schools and society bands, besides senior members of the SGPC participated.
Free stalls of tea, cold drinks, fruits, sweets and water were set up the by the devotees on the occasion. All Gurdwaras were illuminated on Monday night. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
