America On Line now in Hindi and Tamil
Nov 02: Keeping in mind the fact that in near future around 200 million Indians are expected to use online services thus expanding market every service provider is in mood to woo the Indian users by localising its services. America On Line is just another addition to the list.
America On Line (AOL), the Internet unit of American media organisation Time Warner Inc has launched its AOL India portal in Hindi and Tamil language for Indian users as a part of its market expansion plan. The company also plans to come up in other regional languages of India.
AOL in order to enhance its online advertising sales started offering free portals in different languages outside United States like Japan, UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, France, Korea, Spain and India.
To match other Internet service providers the web portal offers a range of services including mail, mobile, messenger, news, videos, music, image, online directories etc. with good amount of web content.
In its Hindi and Tamil portals, it offers local news from different news sources, entertainment news, arts and culture, astrology etc. Internet users can also get a wide variety of materials on cricket, Bollywood movies and so on.
AOL advice section ‘Guru’ where one can seek advice from experts on lifestyle, diet, health and fitness, love, relationship and sex, about gadgets like cars and bikes and many others.
The Truveo video search section offers a large amount of search options with quality search technology to find the right videos from across the web. AOL India (www.aol.in) provides video results from various news channels, television shows, music videos, sports highlights etc. This option is now available in eight countries and the company is in its plan to introduce all its popular services in as many as 30 countries by the end of 2008.
