Bhopal, July 19 (ANI): A chance to relish ice cream during summer is something hardly anyone of us would miss. And, a school in Bhopal does exactly, but in a big way by making 'Ice-Cream Day' every year in June.
Preety Petals Foundation school in Bhopal organised 'Ice Cream Day' on Saturday on the lines of the National Ice Cream Day marked in the United States on third Sunday on July.
In 1984, the then U.S President Ronald Regan had declared July as national Ice cream month and announced third Sunday of July as the National Ice Cream Day.
It's been seven years since Bhopal's Preety Petals Foundation School started celebrating Ice Cream Day to the delight of all students at the school.
"We have been celebrating ice cream day for the last seven years. Kids enjoy a lot of ice cream on this day. This is a day when kids dance and have fun," said Shashi Keswani, Director, Preety Petals Foundation School.
On Saturday, school children made most of the opportunity and enjoyed gulping as much ice cream as the could.
"Today ice cream day is being celebrated in our school. We enjoyed a lot and ate lots of ice cream. It was fun. I love Ice cream," said Mariya, a student on Saturday.
Organizers also view it as a day to increase popularity of ice creams. Thus, on this occasion, an Ice cream eating competition was also held, which was participated joyfully by all students. By Ram Chand Sahu (ANI)
