CRPF officer killed in road accident in Delhi

New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) A sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed and a head constable injured when a speeding container truck hit their motorcycle from behind in north Delhi, police said Monday.

 

Sub inspector Tejbir, 35, and head constable Sudhir Rana, 30, were returning home on a motorcycle when they were hit from behind by the speeding container truck in the Nangloi area late Sunday.

 

 

They were taken to the Sanjay Gandhi hospital where Tejbir was declared brought dead. Rana was said to be recuperating.

 

 

The police said after the accident the driver of the container lost control of the vehicle and smashed the vehicle into a tree.

 

 

'We have registered a case and efforts are on to nab the driver,' said a policeman.
