More detail about Vietnam

How Vietnam Has Operated After the War

Vietnam, a country along the South China Sea, was engaged in a war with the United States during much of the 1960s and part of the 1970s. The United States withdrew from the country in 1973. There have been a number of points in Vietnam that have occurred since the war ended.

First, the entire country has become a communist country. The southern part of Vietnam had been supported by the United States as a means of fighting off communist forces in the northern part of the country. However, communist forces in the north completely occupied the south in 1975.

As a result, the country has been substantially limited. There is only one party that is allowed in all political activities. This is the Communist Party of CPV. Also, the country had engaged in isolationist activities that helped to keep outside influences from impacting Vietnam. This kept economic growth from occurring for much of the post-war era.

There have also been some concerns about human rights in Vietnam. This is due to cases where people have tried to illegally leave the country into other places like China or Laos.

There have been some cases where Vietnam is trying to become open to the general world. The 1986 doi moi plan has worked with more plans to export goods to other countries and to encourage trade with different countries. This has helped Vietnam to grow in size and to give more employment to more people around the country.

The exports of Vietnam have especially helped to give Vietnam a chance to grow in its post-war era. The country particularly ships textiles and clothes out to different parts of the world. In fact, Vietnam even exports some of its goods to the United States along with a series of other countries throughout eastern Asia.
