More detail about Christmas Island

Christmas Island is Like a Giant Park

Christmas Island is an island that is located in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It is located right on the southern side of Indonesia. The island is currently operated as a property of Australia. It gets its name from how it was discovered on a Christmas day in the seventeenth century. This is a unique island in that it is practically its own large park.

Christmas Island is known predominantly for being a tropical island. The rainforests around Christmas Island are noted for being prominent in that they cover most of the country. In fact, most parts around the country are interpreted as a giant park. There are not too many settlements that get in the way of the island. In fact, The Settlement, which is the capitol of the island, is the only real notable settlement on the island.

There are many appealing bodies of water to be found around the island. For example, the Dales at the southwestern part of Christmas Island are a series of streams that flow in a parallel pattern. These streams are noted for being very beautiful and unique. They are also popular for being right near a series of different flora like root trees.

The blowholes of Christmas Island are especially impressive. These blowholes can be found around the southern coast of the island. They are popular because they are holes that feature air and water coming out of them. This occurs because of the waves of water that move into the caves around the southern coast. These holes are unique and can?t be found in many other places around the world.

A good point about visiting Christmas Island is that it works with many of the same controls as that of what could be found in Australia. The island is essentially treated as an extension of Australia in terms of laws and rule. Also, the Australian dollar is the official currency on the island.
