Season 5 of Indian Premier League is big, grand, lavish and marvelous. This year IPL is ready to take off on April 4, 2012 and will have an opening ceremony on April 3.

The opening ceremony of Indian Premier League will be held at YMCA College of Physical Education, Chennai. Like all previous seasons, people will be able to see the flavor of Bollywood and Hollywood in this year's IPL.

Amitabh Bachchan will host the opening ceremony that will begin at 7:30 pm on April 3. Opening Night of IPL 5 will be dazzled by the performances of Kareena kapoor, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

Famous Hollywood singer and actor Katy Perry will add the flavor of Hollywood to this year's IPL.

All 9 team captains will take the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge in this tournament. It has been on display since the competition's started in 2008.

Venue gates for the opening ceremony will be thrown open to the audience from 5:00 pm. Tickets prices will start at Rs 1500 and can be purchased from the online website of IPL.
