Tulsidas, Great Poet

Tulsidas is the legendary poet in the literature of India. He is the greatest poet of Hindi literature who could excel in the field of poetry and established a new history in poetry. The poems of Tulsidas are extraordinarily meritorious and momentous for it deals with the grand themes of Indian mythology and spirituality as well as religion.

Tulsidas is perhaps the oldest poet in India. He was born in 1532 and was a great saint, spiritual leader, and adept philosopher through out his life. His marital life was not so happy as after marriage he forgot his wife and family and went after the Hindu God Ramachandra by the advice of his wife. Tulsidas as a great devotee of Ramachandra wrote the, Ramacharitamans, Ramayana, the greatest epic ever written by anybody in the world. By this works Tulsidas presented the highest advantages to the common people. The work provided a rich knowledge on the God of Hinduism and spirituality as well as promoted the standard of the then Hindi by developing it in to a rich language. Ramayana is the legendary epic, which set a trend in the literature on Hindi. People could know many things regarding their God and his activities and the life story.

Other great works penned down by Tulsidas are Hanuman Chalisa, Bairavi Ramayana, Vinay patrika, Gitavali and Parvati Mangal. Thus the works of Tulsidas preach the old age heritage of Hindu religion, its philosophy, spirituality and divine qualities.
