Most of the people around the world feel the "Retirement Stress" just after their retirement from a full-time occupation. Though this stress is normal as everybody feels it, it is also easy and necessary to get out of it. Once a person retires from his work, which was part of a daily routine of his/her life, they enter in a completely new life with different routines and lifestyle.

Few questions every retire person ask are: What am I going to do? Who cares about me? Am I important? Is retirement stress and depression free life.

Thee are always something or other to do in your life. There is always someone or other who cares about you and you must understand that being alive you are important can change lives of people.

Here are few ways to get out of Retirement Stress:

  1. Give Your Hobby a Chance:

Being bored is the first thing that a person feels after retirement and is the root cause of building mental stress. After retirement it is not necessary that you work but you can do few things to be busy.

Bring back you hobby: Painting, Gardening, fishing, writing are few of the hobbies that people possess. Bring out your hobby and give it a chance, which you couldn't because of your job and responsibility.

Take a holiday, if possible. Go out to resorts, beaches, seashore, mountains, way from city and its hectic life for some time. This refreshes your soul, give you the break you needed for quite long and releases your stress.

  1. Join Social Cause:

Once the people are retired, they can work towards bringing happiness in others life. There are many people in need, drug addicts, poor, sick, handicapped and orphan. You can devote some your time to lend a hand to these needy people.

Join a society, club and participate in social causes and activities. In this way you not only make something good out of your life, you also bring happiness to others.

There are many organizations working throughout the world to help needy people. Join any and you may get to see the world and at the same time help people.

  1. Prioritize your expenses:

First and foremost problem and root cause of Retirement stress is money worries. Most of the people who retire do not financially plan for their retirement and face money shortage afterwards.

Though it is difficult to overcome money shortage there are few ways to overcome it. You will have to compromise on your spending and shopping habit. As lifestyle changes, so does a person. Spend less on cigarettes, clothing and other unnecessary items.

Make your hobby a way of earning. People can make money with hobbies like Painting, writing, gardening and others.

If you have a big house and your children live outside, you can rent a part of it.

If you are not retired, plan you retirement. Invest in pension plans and mutual funds. Consult an expert for it.

  1. Get Spiritual:

In Hindu religion, it is said that retirement (60+) is the time to get spiritual. Whichever religion you follow, people can emphasis on religious work after retirement. It provides mental relief and relief to your soul.

You get to know your inner self. Attend religious gathering, studies, workshop and practice meditation or yoga. Visit religious places, monuments, it can be a holiday and at the same time purify your soul.
