Moodbidri Veerappa Moily, commonly known as Veerappa Moily is Indian politician and former Chief Minister of the state of Karnataka. He has served on several portfolios in the center and at present he is Minister of Corporate Affairs in the second term of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He was first ethnic Tuluva Chief Minister of Karnataka state.

Moily, the veteran Congress leader was born at Marpadi, Distt. Moodabidri, Karnataka on 12th January 1940. He is a law graduate from University Law College, Bangalore. After completing his education, he joined active politics and served at several posts including ministerialship in the Centre cabinet. He has served as Minister for Small Scale Industries from 1974-1977 and Minister for Finance and Planning from 1980 to 1982 in government of Karnatka while he also hold the Chairmanship of Tax Reform Commission from 2000 to 2002 and Revenue Reform Commission from 2002 to 2004.

In Centre, he was Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice from 2009-2011 and at present he is Cabinet Minister of Corporate Affairs since 2011 till date.

He got married to Malathi V. Moily on 25th Feb 1965. The couple has one son and three daughters.
