New Delhi, Mar 3 (ANI): Noted lawyer Lalit Bhasin was appointed as the President of Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), at the annual meet of the organization here on Saturday.
Highly noted legal luminaries gathered in the capital for the for the four-day long Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) 2012 annual meet which concluded today. The conference based on the theme of 'Legal trends, thoughts and times' was focused on contemporary legal trends and the future of the legal industry.
"I am honored to be appointed as the President of IPBA and I look forward to fulfilling this new role and responsibilities with dedication and enthusiasm," said Bhasin while interacting with the mediapersons.
The meet, which was inaugurated by Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Dr. Veerappa Moily and Supreme Court Justice Altamas Kabir, saw participation of approximately 1000 delegates from more than 60 jurisdictions of the world.
Various topical issues including - airline alliances in the new era, legal and regulatory disputes in aviation, investment in dynamic economies in challenging times and recent issues with cross-border M and A and private equity investment among other highly relevant topics were taken up in the meet.
IPBA is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live in, or otherwise have a strong interest in the Asia-Pacific Region. It was established in April 1991 at an organizing conference held in Tokyo attended by more than 500 lawyers from countries within the Asia-Pacific Region. (ANI)
