Asha Bhonsle is one of the most versatile singers in the Hindi film industry. She is the unbeatable voice of Bollywood. Her voice is really amazing and most sophisticated that enchants the audiences. Her songs are mixture of a unique blend of imagination and aesthetic. This celebrated singer of India was born in a family of musicians, the Mangeskars 1933 in Maharastra. Following the footsteps of her elder sister Lata, Asha artistically enveloped songs by her unprecedented skill of singing and entertaining. Asha sang her first film song Chala Chala Nav Bala for the Marathi movie Majha Bal (1943), but her debut Hindi film song was Saawan aaya from the movie Chunariya (1948). Hence onwards, she never saw back and has been climbing the ladders of success from one step to another. During the 50s she had to face some difficulties in her career, but it was melted by her hard perseverance and patience. Asha stayed on with her effort and ultimately tasted the fruit of success. Director O P Nayyar really cooperated a lot in bringing her potential to the forefront and proved her as a great singer to her counterparts. In the 80s Asha with her unique ghazals singning turned her critics from an opponent to an admirer. Till now the eminent singer has remained victorious in winning the mind and heart of the audience by her exceptional singing. Some of the best films that she has voiced in are ?Mere Sanam?, ?Ek Musafir Ek Hasina? ?Khusboo? etc. For her immense contribution to the Indian film industry as well as music, Asha received the Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2000, the highest award given to the film and music personalities.
