Delhi Transport Corporation is the prime transport operator in the capital, which transports the commuters every day from place to place in accordance with their needs and requirements. Delhi Transport Corporation has inter-state transport facilities to the NCR and its adjacent state like Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu& Kashmir. Recently it has introduced new green and red coloured comfortable buses and plans to come out with 5000 new buses out of which 1000 will be air conditioned, by 2010 before the commencement of commonwealth games. DTC also has a share in the friendship cheapest travel so also to the students between India and Pakistan in running weekly bus service to Lahore. DTC issues Green card to daily commuters for cheaper travel. It also offers 1300 buses to the various schools in the NCR to ferry the students and plans to do away with blue line killer buses from the route before 2010.
