BENAZIR BHUTTO

Everything you need to know about BENAZIR BHUTTO: news, reviews, in-depth analysis, opinion and more

Benazir Bhutto, generally known in the world as the first woman prime minister of any country was the PM of Pakistan for two times due to her leadership credentials in conducting the people through political as well as social service. Born in June 23 1953 and studying at Oxford and Havard, Bhutto became the inheritor of her fathers political party Pakistan?s People?s Party in exile in the Uk as her father was imprisoned, in that charge she was exiled in UK. On Nov. 16, 1988 her party got victory with majority of seats and she was sworn in as the 12th prime minister of Pakistan. Again in Oct. 1993 she took oath as the 18th PM of Pakistan and sanctioned many policies for the advancement of women and their position. The most unfortunate crisis that she encountered were the conviction of corruption that were levelled against her due to which she went through an ordeal of mental tension and difficulties, thus in 2002 she was exiled. She again came back to Pakistan towards the end of 2007 in order to contest the parliamentary elections but was gunned down by the extremists in Rawalpindi on 27th December 2007. Thus an aspired soul breathed last dissatisfiedly.
