Hazare's condition improving: Dr. Trehan

Gurgaon, Aug 29 (ANI): India's top cardiologist Dr. Naresh Trehan, who closely monitored Anna Hazare during his fast for a strong and effective Lokpal Bill, today said the health of 74-year-old social activist is gradually improving.

 

Talking to reporters here, Dr. Trehan said: "Anna is improving steadily, and is 30 per cent better than yesterday."

 

"His (Anna's) heart rate is came less then 80 and in the blood test keton are less then 2. His weight is stablised now. Chest xray is also good," he said.

 

"Till the time his digestive system get well he will stay," Dr. Trehan added.

 

After securing Parliament's nod on key elements of Jan Lokpal bill, Hazare broke his over 288 hour-long fast on Sunday declaring that electoral reforms will be next on his agenda.

 

The latest developments came after both the Houses of Parliament on Saturday agreed in principle with Hazare's three key demands.

 

Both Houses of Parliament adopted a resolution on the sense of house accepting key demands of Hazare on citizen charter, lower bureaucracy to be under the ambit of Lokpal and establishment of state lokayuktas and power of lokpal to penalise grievance redressal mechanism violators. (ANI)
