Springfield, August 5(ANI): A new graphic novel will soon give insight into the May 2 Abbottabad raid that killed former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.
Authored by a Springfield artist Gerry Kissell, the book would describe one of the most daring and successful commando raids in American military history.
Kissell's latest work, "Code Word: Geronimo," is a rare view into one of the biggest moments in America's fight against terrorists.
"Here it is, 10 years after the fact, and we finally get the guy. Seal Team Six is the best infiltration unit out there-the best operators," ky3.com quoted Kissell, as saying.
"I used everything in my military background, having been in on the planning on similar operations," he added.
The project masterminds former Marine Captain Dale Dye and Gerry Kissell said the book would give the most accurate account of the raid.
The idea came from Kissell, who hails from an Army background.
"We wanted to make sure this thing didn't become yesterday's news," Dye said.
Both claim they are not undertaking the project for the sake of money.
"Most of all we wanted to show just how heroic these guys are. It's about honoring the men who brought cheering Americans into the streets the night of May 1, 2011", Kissell said.
The book is slated for an official release on September 6, 2011. (ANI)
