Spanish midfielder Silva says he wants to stay with Man City

London, Thu, 03 May 2012 ANI

London, May 3(ANI): Manchester City midfielder David Silva has hinted he is happy to stay at the club, and is focused in helping them win their first Premier League trophy since 1968.

Silva has two years left on his current deal and City is keen to tie their dynamic playmaker to a new long-term agreement, which would shoo away any interest from the two Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on taking the 35 million pounds-rated Spain World Cup and Euro 2008 winner back to his homeland.

But Silva has signaled he would like to extend his deal with City, although any contract talks are on hold until the end of the season.

"What I'm thinking about is the next match on Sunday. I've got two years left on my contract and I've always said I'll be happy to stay here," The Daily Mirror quoted Silva, as saying. But I'm not thinking of an extension to my contract at the moment," he added. (ANI)
