Sanjay Suri back with film on stifled childhood

Delhi,Cinema/Showbiz, Sat, 28 Apr 2012 IANS

New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) After basking in the glory of the National Award for "I AM", actor-producer Sanjay Suri returns to the big screen in the role of a school teacher for a new film "Papa Please", which deals with the undue academic pressure on children.

In 2008, actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan dealt with a similar issue in his blockbuster film "Taare Zameen Par".

"The template is the same, but the story is absolutely different," Sanjay said in a statement.

"Papa Please" is directed by debutant Shashi Verma and produced by Dipankar Roy and Binod Gupta. The film talks about the pressure parents and institutions inflict on students and youngsters to excel in academics. It also deals with the issue of saving the girl child.

"The film is from the point of view of a girl, who has the tremendous pressure of topping every time and how this pressure affects the psyche of the child," Sanjay added.

While actor Vipin Sharma, of "Taare Zameen Par" fame, plays the father, Bengali actress Roopa Ganguly will essay the role of the mother.
