Woman's body found in Delhi

New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) An unidentified woman with her face badly mutilated was Saturday found dead in the forested area near the Delhi Police Training Camp in Sonia Vihar here, police said.


The woman's face was badly disfigured, allegedly by animals, but the police have not ruled out foul play.


"We received the call at 6:55 a.m., today (Saturday). It seemed that the woman's face was mauled by animals but the actual cause of death will be confirmed only after the postmortem," said a police officer.


The body was found in a forested area near Delhi Police Training Camp in Sonia Vihar in east Delhi.


Police officials added that the body had been sent to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where it will be preserved for 72 hours for identification, before the postmortem. A murder case had been filed at the Sonia Vihar police station.
