Don't insult Indian audience's intelligence: Nikhil Dwivedi (Movie Snippets)

Maharashtra,Cinema/Showbiz, Wed, 18 Apr 2012 IANS

Mumbai, April 18 (IANS) Actor Nikhil Dwivedi who will be seen in "Hate Story", which is said to have a lot of bold content, says it's not right to question whether Indian audiences are ready for a film of this kind.

"All the adults will be ready for it ('Hate Story'). If you are an adult, you are allowed a lot of privileges by even the law of the nation because you have attained a certain sense of maturity," said Dwivedi.

"I think somewhere by talking like this we are insulting the intelligence of the people of this country. Of course, they are ready and mature enough to watch a film like this," he added.

A Vikram Bhatt production, "Hate Story" also features Gulshan Devaiah of "Shaitan" fame and controversial Bengali actress Paoli Dam.

"My kids are growing up and they have been telling me to cut my hair. They tell me - 'Are you trying to look like a rockstar by sporting long hair? What will we tell out friends? So please behave your age... what will people say'," the 39-year-old said here.

"My wife also thinks that I am going through a mid-life crisis, that I am touching 40 and I am trying to look like a 14-year-old," he added.

Shaan made a mark with his albums "Tanha Dil" and "Aksar" in the early 2000s. His latest song "Do you know" from "Housefull 2" is catching up among listeners.
