Oz won't allow resurgent West Indies to bounce back in Trinidad Test: Arthur

Port-of-Spain , Fri, 13 Apr 2012 ANI

Port-of Spain (Trinidad) Apr 13(ANI): Australia will not allow a resurgent West Indies to bounce back in the second Test at Trinidad after drawing both the one-day and Twenty 20 series, coach Mickey Arthur has said.

"They showed in the one-dayers how good they were. We certainly won't be taking them lightly. We saw in the one-day series we won the first game and they came back at us. We won the first T20 and they hit back at us. We're not going to let that happen in the Test series," Fox Sports quoted Arthur, as saying.

Australia's bid to win the series has been boosted by paceman Ryan Harris's comment that he is fit enough to play the remaining two Tests in the series.

"I've got a perfect fitness base now. I've played four games back in Australia, bowled plenty of overs and got through about 35, 36 here (in Barbados). Touch wood ... I feel as if I'm going really well. Giving up my position I want to make very hard," he had said.

Australia might retain the same squad for the second Test, but Arthur hinted Australia could include both Nathan Lyon and Michael Beer for the Trinidad Test.

"Looking at the stats, which I've done, over the last two seasons, it has been relatively low scoring but also spin-friendly. So the temptation could be there. You'd never write that off until you've had a look at conditions," he said. (ANI)
