New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Saturday expressed concern about the safety of women in the national capital after being told about tapes made by a news channel containing remarks by Delhi police officials blaming women for provoking rape.

"I have not seen those tapes myself, but I will watch them and talk to the police commissioner myself," Dikshit said.

She said the government would consider the proposal about making it mandatory for all women who worked after 8 p.m. to be dropped home by their employers.

"We are all worried about this atmosphere where women do not feel safe," she added.

In a recent sting operation, NDTV channel had captured Delhi Police officials on camera saying that women's 'loose' behaviour was the prime reason for rape cases in Delhi.
