Delhi,Terrorism, Wed, 28 Mar 2012 IANS

New Delhi, March 28 (IANS) A suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist was arrested from east Delhi and one kg explosives and a detonator seized from him, police said Wednesday.

Assadullah Rehman alias Dilkash, 20, who is allegedly an aide of IM's elusive chief operative Yasin Bhatkal, was arrested from Chandu Nagar area late Tuesday night, said a senior police official.

During interrogation, Dilkash, hailing from Darbhanga in Bihar, revealed his links with the outfit.

"After completing his schooling in 2010, Dilkash came in contact with Mohammad Kafeel Ahmad, the motivator and ideologue of Indian Mujahideen. Ahmad motivated Dilkash to join Indian Mujahideen and in February 2011 he introduced him to Bhatkal," said the official. Ahmad was arrested recently.

Dilkash arrived in Delhi in April last year and was taken to an arms factory at Nangloi Meer Vihar area in west Delhi where he learnt arms manufacturing.

After getting training from there, he assisted Mohammad Irshad and Bhatkal in allegedly manufacturing of pistols and other arms and ammunition, added the official. "He became a trusted aide of Bhatkal," the official claimed.

Dilkash told police that Bhatkal directed him to leave Delhi immediately for a safer place in November last year when police arrested a number of IM members.

"Dilkash then went to Mumbai. He got a job at a construction site at Ambi Valley, near Khandala Ghat. He worked there as a supervisor for around two months. In mid-February 2012, he left Mumbai and went to Nepal and then came to Delhi," said the official.

"Bhatkal had told him to come back to Delhi and arrange for premises," added the official.
