Lucknow, Mar 15 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav will take oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

He will be the youngest and 33rd chief minister of the state and it will be fourth tenure of the Samajwadi Party.

Governor B L Joshi would administer oath to Akhilesh Yadav and his council of ministers at La Martiniere school grounds here. Senior leaders from different political parties are expected to attend the function. Besides the political leaders, industrialists and several film actors would also participate in the function.

Akhilesh was on Saturday named the new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh by his party's lawmakers after the Samajwadi Party (SP) routed all its rivals in the recently concluded state assembly elections, clinching 224 of 403 seats in the state assembly.

He has been credited with reviving the party's image through his earnest approach and campaigns that won over the state's voters with promises of development. (ANI)
