Pippa and Prince Harry win admirers 5000 miles apart

London, Mar 5 (ANI): Pippa Middleton, who participated in the annual Vasaloppet ski race to raise money for a children's charity, was kissed by a man moments after crossing the finish line.

Having just completed a gruelling 56-mile cross-country ski race, the 28-year-old was no doubt hoping to be rewarded with a refreshing drink or even a medal.

But one male admirer, race steward Erik Smedhs, had other ideas as he managed to grab the party planner and plant a kiss on her cheek as she crossed the finish line, making him the envy of bachelors worldwide.

She reacted with good humour, smiling sheepishly as she got ready to take off her skis.

Pippa, who receives more media coverage in many foreign countries than her sister the Duchess of Cambridge, told reporters she had only prepared for the race for "a couple of weekends" and admitted it had been tiring.

The fitness fanatic finished in a respectable 412th place in the women's category among a field of 15,800 male and female competitors, taking 7 hours 13 minutes to complete the course between the villages of Salen and Mora, around 200 miles north-west of Stockholm.

On her personal page on the justgiving.com website, she wrote about the marathon.

"My brother and I are raising money for Magic Breakfast, a small registered charity that fights child hunger through breakfast clubs and delivering free breakfasts (bagels, cereal, juice and porridge) to thousands of state primary school children in the UK, particularly our inner cities," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

Meanwhile, 5,000 miles away, Prince Harry was also turning heads as he attended a cathedral service in the Bahamas on the latest leg of his Caribbean tour.

He drew cheers from adoring female fans in Nassau as he wore the Tropical Number 1 uniform of the Blues and Royals for the first time.

Among the congregation at Christ Church Cathedral was the reigning Miss Bahamas, 23-year-old Anastagia Pierre.

"I came here to fall in love with Prince Harry....he's hot! He is single now, so would I marry him? Yes!" she said.

"There is great respect here for the Royal Family and we are hugely excited that Prince Harry has come here to see us," Pierre said.

The Prince's uniform included a ceremonial sword, the wings of the Army Air Corps and an eagle insignia on his arm which signifies an eagle standard captured from the French at Waterloo by the Royal Dragoons, the predecessor of the Blues and Royals.

He also wore a Diamond Jubilee medal, having been given special permission by the Queen to wear it earlier than other members of the armed forces, alongside a Golden Jubilee medal and his Afghanistan campaign medal.

Like all members of the Royal family, his uniform included a gold sash and epaulettes, and instead of wearing the forage cap of the Blues and Royals he wore an Army Air Corps blue beret because he is on attachment as an Apache helicopter pilot. (ANI)
