Leptospirosis haunts Kerala post flood, 10 died
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Sep 03 (ANI): 10 people have died due to Leptospirosis in Kerala till now. Leptospirosis cases were already high before the floods ravaged Kerala. Post-flood the disease reached on its peak with over 300 cases being suspected. The Additional Director of Health under Directorate of Health Services, Dr KJ Reena said, “If we compare the data of previous year, we always have peak numbers of Leptospirosis cases in the month of June, July and August. After floods, millions and millions of people came in contact with water, so we expected a large number of cases, and we were prepared for that.”
