CM Naidu declares 2017 as 'e-Pragati year'; reviews health, education, housing facilities in the state

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 21 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that as many as 47 percent of the state universities are accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Addressing the second day of the Collectors' Conference, CM Naidu asked all the collectors to focus more on primary education. CM Naidu said that at least 11 universities are coming into the state with Rs.15, 800 crores to provide education to 1.62 lakh students. He also said that 4 varsities started classes in present academic year; remaining seven varsities will start classes from next academic year. During the event, CM Naidu inaugurated AP Sports Policy 2017 and wished all on the eve of Navaratri festival. He also paid tributes to Gurazada Apparao, a great social reformer on the eve of his 150th birth centenary. CM also declared the year of 2017 as e-Pragati year. Addressing the second day of the Collectors' Conference, Naidu said that all districts must come under the purview of the flagship programme that will help the government make real-time governance. He also informed that the land acquisition policy will be followed to overcome the problem of availability of lands for urban house construction project. He also inaugurated a brochure of the AP Green Awards; CM Naidu said it will start from this year.
