From ancient times Bihar has been a center of learning. Education in Bihar is an eclectic mix of eastern and western values while keeping intact its pristine aura.
Bihar has its own significance in education field from ancient times. It was the land where scholars from many parts of the world had approached for teaching and learning in ancient times. Nalanda University and Vikramshila University are the witness, which shows that scholars from China and Tibbet had visited here for learning. It is a land of Gautam Buddha and Mahavir who shows the new way to the world and today maximum foreign countries are following their teachings. There is a lack of literacy in the people of Bihar but it is due to half way approach of governments and other factors are responsible. Before independence and after that, Bihar has got many milestones in terms of educational institutional and way is going on.
Now government is in the process for establishing the golden glory of Nalanda University of past and many foreign countries have come forward to help in the project. Today Bihar government has started to focus on the basic education System and facilities; on that basis there opening of many private schools, famous universities and establishment of technical/educational institutions in Bihar state shows the new hope for the students.
Now the premiere institute of country in technology, IIT has opened its new campus in Patna and certainly it will improve the opportunity for students for technical studies. Many Management institutions have opened in Bihar and students can get massive share for their business studies in these institutions.
