The Bihar economy is mainly depends on its agricultural base, Natural resources, industry and services. There was a time when Bihar was counted in the much natural resource and industrial state in India but after the division of Bihar in 2000, it has to suffer a lot. Almost all the industrial plants and natural mining and resources remained a part of Jharkhand state. Now the economical development of Bihar has mainly agricultural based and service oriented economy including a small industrial sector also. There was a time when state had crippled in the grip of corrupt politicians and poor performance on all aspects of development throw the state in the dark. Rate of development gone into its lower and there was no any scope for its betterment. But now state has been creating history with the proper utilization of the same resources but utilizing them skillfully and efficiently.
Needless to say Bihar has proper means of transportation including Road, Rail and Air and it has wide potential to grow in every field. Lichi of Muzaffarpur has its own importance in country and even it has major demand from abroad too. There are many sugar factory situated in North Bihar and some plants also available in the state. Patna and Bhagalpur has become famous for many small-scale industries and silk industry of Bhagalpur is famous in the country.
