Janata Dal United is regional political party having its base in the Indian states of Bihar and Karnataka. And it is a constituent of National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata party. Janata Dal (united) currently led by Nitish Kumar was originated from the merge of Janata Dal (U) and Samata Party in October 2003. Janata Dal (U) and The Rastriya Janata Dal are the products of Janata Dal headed by Jayaprakash Narayan and were originated for a major social transformation and metamorphosis as called revolution after the guilty of Indira Gandhi shown by Allahabad High court. At present Janata Dal (U) leads state government in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, the chief minister having alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party led National Democratic Alliance. But in Karnataka state poll in 2008, it could win no seat of 71 seats it contested. The party has won 8 seats in the Lok Sabha. The party in Bihar is in full swing to make it a developed one from the state of underdeveloped. It has attached all its efforts to achieve its aims and objectives in bringing a great transition in the face and appearance of the state. The political party has its target in uniting the human beings from all sects so that social harmony could be established easily.

UNITED NATIONS, Apr 28 (Xinhua-ANI): The members of the UN Security Council said in a press statement released here Friday that they welcome the verdict issued against former Liberian leader Charles Taylor, which deemed that he is guilty of several violations of international law.
