Producer director Indra Kumar after some failed attempts this time comes with Dhamaal a nice comedy with some power pact comic sense and timing from all actors. It seems that director has regained his momentum that he earlier created with 'Ishq' and 'Masti' that were great success in box office. This time it a bunch of young actors along with Sanjay Dutt and Javed Jaffrey who are known for their great comic delivery.
The story goes something like this as there is a gang of nonsense guys who certainly add sense to the film later when the movie progresses. Simply the plot revolves around those four: Arshad Warsi as Aditya, Riteish Deshmukh as Roy, Jaaved Jaffrey as Manav and Aashish Chowdhry as Boman a contractor and how they mistakenly got trapped into a murder of a criminal Bose staring Prem Chopra. Here comes the cop Sanjay Dutt as inspector Kabir Nayak who in suspect starts following them and that brings all drollness and dhamaal in the story.
All actors especially Arshad, Ritesh, Javed and Dutt are in their as usual style with excellent comic nous making continuous laugh riot in theatre. Apart from actor Asrani who is known as one of the best in business playing the father of Boman
This time the director without having a female lead has done the best in telling a tale out of the life of four cons. Probably after “Masti” it is going to be another success for the director. The film is also a special one for Sanjay Dutt’s fans as it is the first movie of releasing from jail with interim bail.
Though there is no leading actress opposite to those boys but has a set of good music scores as Adnan Sami for the first time is lending his composing talent for a movie. All above mentioned singers are well known for their singing talent and also have well fit to the lyrics of Sameer. The most soothing one is the Chandni Raat Hai Saiyaan sang by Asha Bhonsale, a mixture of classical and qawaali sort. The title track is also a mixture of western and classical and fits well to the video and script of the story. However, you will find a couple of remix version in cassettes or CDs that is now a usual trend.
Overall if you want a good movie in fact a sense full comedy with all nonsense and prank then no doubt it is a good one. It’s the second comedy movie after last week’s “Hey Baby” that has brought some relief to the movie buffs as RGV’s Aag completely failed as a film.
