Washington, Jan 9 (ANI): Victoria's Secret supermodel Karolina Kurkova has received a lot of criticism for her fuller-than-usual figure over recent months. But if rumours are to be believed, she is suffering from hyperthyroidism, a thyroid disorder that can slow down the body's metabolism.
The 24-year-old was blasted by the Brazilian media for her "cellulite and love handles" after walking in Sao Paulo Fashion Week in June, and was then harshly dubbed "too fat" by fashion critics following the lavish lingerie show in November, reports Fox News.
The Czech-born beauty went on a crash diet, cutting out all carbs and working out for hours in preparation for last November's Victoria Secret lingerie show in Miami.
However, a pal said, "She was exhausted and didn't get down to where she wanted to be."
Apparently, her weight woes may have more to do with the medical condition, hyperthyroidism, than with just a lack of willpower.(ANI)
